Scale recipe: servings
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb Brussels Sprouts
- 3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 3/4 tablespoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Honey
Instructions
- Start by preparing your Brussels sprouts. Wash them thoroughly and cut them in half.
- Arrange the halves, flat side up, in an oven-safe dish. I like to place them on a cookie sheet to make sure each half is crisped equally.
- Drizzle 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil evenly over the sprouts, then sprinkle 3/4 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, mix 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar with 1 teaspoon of honey or agave syrup in a small bowl.
- After baking, switch the oven to broil and broil the sprouts for 2 to 5 minutes to add some crunch to the texture. Watch the sprouts carefully to prevent burning. Check every minute and then take them out when they reach the perfect amount of crisp.
- Once done, remove from the oven and pour the vinegar-honey mixture over the sprouts.
- Your Brussels sprouts are now ready to serve.
Notes
Add 1/2 teaspoon of ground Cayenne pepper to make it sweet and spicy!
